DisneyLand Hong Kong has fireworks in the end of the day and of course you need to see those if you are visiting the park. Have a look for the small video clip showing a part of the fantastic show. The fireworks were shooted to different parts of the sky so you had something happening all around you.

Hong Kong and British culture

It is funny how you experience Hong Kong. While the British have given the area to China you will experience the British culture here very strongly. This isn’t the China you experience in the mainland, some things are missing and some are replaced with Western style. Taxi drivers want to speak English with you for example.
All the time I am feeling that I am in London instead, just that there more Chinese restaurants than in London. :-D So, Hong Kong isn’t China just like that, Hong Kong is Hong Kong and nothing else. It is a unique place.

Christmas is still here

Christmas is still here, at least in Hong Kong and Ocean Park. They run this light and music show lighting up the Christmas tree twice while we were queuing for the ice sculpture show.

Fog and flying

Fog is quite beautiful when you can observe it over the field in the early morning in the countryside. It makes everything so peaceful. And it also makes airports peaceful as you might have noticed from the news recently.

As usual, I joined many others and found out that my flight from Helsinki to London has been cancelled. I was supposed to fly this evening to London, stay overnight and continue tomorrow to Hong Kong. Now the new plan is to directly fly from Helsinki to Bangkok and then continue from there to Hong Kong. It was just that originally I chose the routing because I wanted to fly with Cathay Pacific and now I will be spending the first long flight with Finnair.

Most important thing is of course that I will be flying to Hong Kong anyway and I will get there so the holiday plans don’t change completely, just some extra steps to be taken compared to original plan.

Merry Christmas 2007!

It is time for the traditional Christmas tree photo from my parent’s place. :D I am currently already in Helsinki airport waiting for my flight, I will be spending Christmas time somewhere else than in Finland.

New design for Guess Who Am I blog

Today I enabled the new design for my blog; this design is especially designed only for this blog and is excellent work from yichi. Many plugins have been also updated along the process and some have been changed to completely new. New year is almost ready to begin and my blog is ready to start it too.

Site outage

I don’t know if you have noticed but there has been an outage on my web site for the past three days. It is because the hosting provide I use, DreamHost, is having a great problems with one of the filers. And of course that filer is the one, which holds all my web site files.

At the moment it seems that it doesn’t get fixed very soon and things are really badly broken; I have decided to go around this problem by building my web site from the beginning into the new filer. So please be patient, many things will be very broken during the next days as it is also very slow process to transfer any files from the old filer to the new one. One feature, which will take a longer time will be the photo gallery. Blog is now up and running as it was before.

Music videos

Okay, time to post some music videos from Asia again. Some of you know that I like Asian music videos, which I am trying to search in YouTube and many other places. This time I hope you enjoy these beautiful piano music videos.

In Moscow

New city for me! This time just for business travel so the days are full of work and there isn’t much sightseeing happening for me this time. Business trips are always like this, you just see airport, hotel and couple of the offices. Then if you are lucky, you will see some local restaurants and if you are not that lucky you will get used to the hotel restaurant in the evening.

Compared to my previous one week in China, this is much different. No nice hotels, no stress-free days and no relaxation. Weather in Moscow is very cold at the moment and you really can feel the cold wind blowing through the city – Siberian wind maybe?

Oh well, you cannot always be in China, can’t you?
