Guess Who Am I

Lots of cancelled flights because SAS has ongoing strike in Sweden.

We are currently flying over the Greenland and you can clearly see the land figures.

After spending a full day in Munich, I continued to the USA. In Copenhagen after I managed to get to the gate, the airplane Airbus 340 was already waiting.

And after awhile they started to load some of the cargo, which was still unloaded. Couple of cars tried to get also in the same flight but apparently after all the cars weren’t loaded for some reason as they were on the tarmac when the plane left the gate.

I am currently on board the SK998, from Shanghai to Copenhagen. We have just arrived to Russian airspace and left China where I was having a great weekend. It is once again time to go back to Europe, even if it would not feel like going back home.

I had a really great weekend and the late change of hotel just improved it. Can you imagine how it feels to open the curtains and see fog and clouds and nothing else? Being that high? It is quite amazing while you of course do not have any views. Grand Hyatt Shanghai was very nice hotel and provided absolutely perfect service while we were there. Nothing to complain at all. The view is very nice and service just complements the view.

Now it is just time to sit back, have few movies and a little bit of sleep - maybe with a few cups of espresso It is still nice to see that Connexion is working at least in this route and I can be online for awhile (and it is free and Boeing is shutting down the service).

Maybe I will go and check the Godiva chocolate storage …

Some of you know that when you are travelling with me then you have to be prepared pretty much for anything. I have had a diversion and rough landing and all sort of technical delayes etc.

Well, it happened again. And this time I really hoped that nothing would happen and I would actually be on time in Shanghai but no … of course not with my luck.

Departed late from Tampere to Copenhagen due to late arriving aircraft. Nothing major, I had plenty of time in Copenhagen so this wasn’t going to be a problem. But in Copenhagen a few minuted before departure time they told us why they weren’t boarding the aircraft already.

The bridge had collided with the aircraft and they were trying to separate those and then check the damages on the aircraft door. This was something I didn’t want to hear - if there would be major damages then we would not be flying at all. They didn’t say it but it was pretty obvious that in the bad scenario I would be delayed quite much.

Well, the long waiting time started - it felt like months but then they announced that they were able to get the bridge off the aircraft and checked the aircraft door and it didn’t have any damage. But the bridge was now non-functional so no boarding from that gate. They started to move the aircraft slowly as the bridge was still in the same position and didn’t move very much so they had to carefully move the aircraft.

And after two hour delay, we were finally taking off. I am currently flying somewhere above the Russia airspace and hoping that one time in life the satellite phone would actually work. But of course not.

But, I am at least travelling towards Shanghai and going to spend a weekend in there. Nothing is going to stop me now.

Let’s just wish that nothing else is going to happen and everything else is going smoothly from now on. I have had enough technical problems for this weekend.

SK945 has become my usual flight to the USA - and once again, it will be my flight. You can see the aircraft waiting us, boarding will start in few minutes.

Sometimes the fun has to stop and you have to come back home. I am currently again in business class travelling somewhere over the Russia. Everything is quiet, most of the people are sleeping and lunch was already served long time ago.

According to the map, we are currently near Novosibirsk.
