It is that time of the year when you can feel how one season is about to change to another. It is getting colder and colder, we have already seen the first snow for this Winter and it really feels like Winter is just around the corner.
And, lakes are starting to freeze in the areas where there is no wind and no deep water.
Winter, welcome to Finland!
Weather has warmed up again and some of the snow has melted. They are are forecasting more snow tomorrow but let’s see if it will come.
In this picture you can see the traditional Christmas decorations at the local airport. And some fog. 
I got used to seeing sun already high when waking up in China. In Finland that isn’t exactly true as sunrise will happen later. Winter is coming …
Winter is coming to Finland, this is how it looked this morning. You were able to see frost everywhere.
Sometimes we have very bad days in Finland during the Winter. Just very cloudy and very cold. Sometimes you don’t see much sunshine. And then just when you lose your hope for sunshine then you will have this kind of day like some time ago. Clear blue sky, almost no clouds, bright sunshine and bright, white snow.
This photo is not from today, today was quite grey day so it is nice to have these memories in the photos to remind us how the good days look like.
We got some cold weather and then of course some snow. And this time smaller roads are icy an snow actually stays longer than couple of hours. Maybe this is beginning of the Winter? Well, they have predicted that soon we will again see some warm weather so it will melt away but anyway, we are progressing to right direction all the time.
Beginning of October there was just yellow and red leaves in the trees and most of those were actually falling down. Nature was preparing for Winter.
And then suddenly there was a storm hitting the Finland, twelve days later from the first picture. The strong wind brought also some rain with it and also the temperature went down so the rain came down as a snow. We have seen the first snow for this Winter, it of course melted away already during that day but this is the beginning.
Storm travelled through the Sweden during Thursday night and arrived to Finland on Friday. In Sweden it caused power outages but in Finland we just got some heavier winds and rain during the Friday. But it turned different during the night, I woke up hearing rain but when I looked out of the window, I saw something white. No, not again …
I like winter but there is a time for everything and now it should be time for spring. There is a little bit snow on the ground (you can still clearly see ground, it is not completely white) and it is currently still snowing, sort of. I hope weather would just turn back to warm.
And I caught a cold … I have been sneezing few days now but I am recovering slowly.
We received suddenly unexpected cold weather this week and on last night it snowed a little bit. The temperature is -3 Celsius degrees (26.6 Fahrenheit degrees) and it feels very cold after a warmer time. I wish Spring would really arrive soon now as you cannot just go between cold and warm weather all the time.
And guess who had scheduled time for tire change for next Tuesday? Let’s see how the weather develops.
It is getting warmer again. I was in Germany last week, left from Finland on Saturday 3rd of February and then the weather here started to get colder during our vacation. The car was at the airport when it got really cold and when we came back on the night between Wednesday and Thursday last week it was -26 Celsius degrees (-14.8 Fahrenheit degrees).
I was walking to my car and noticed how they were taking away a brand new BMW, I guess it didn’t start or something else was wrong with it but I was thinking how it will work with my car. The car was all covered with ice and snow and doors were frozen. I tried to start the car and it actually started right away – not even a long startup time and no unstable running. So nice, it is really a winter car as they say.
