Snow again
Well, we got some snow once again. This time the ground is actually even looking white. Let’s see how long this lasts this time, I have become a little bit sceptical whether we are going to get any kind of proper winter this year. Weather forecast isn’t promising anything too good.
And of course it turned out to be slippery again – not too difficult to drive but something was reminding about the weather in the dashboard, the little yellow warning light telling me that computer is actually taking care of handling the too much sliding.
Everyone are planning their winter vacations although, it doesn’t feel like winter when it is so warm and so far (until today) we haven’t been seeing the snow but I guess it is something people are used to do at this time of the year – planning the upcoming winter vacation.
Winter is not coming
Winter is not coming after all. We are now running on the sixth day of the new year and we still cannot see much of a sign for a winter. Temperature is still quite high for this time of a year and no sign of snow.
The text messages are still not travelling between Finland and China, phone calls are back to normal now. Internet is slowly recovering, it is now possible to access some sites in China again and people in China are able to access for example Windows Live Messenger network. According to the recent reports, the recovery will take still pretty much all January. The Wikipedia has been again quite quick on getting up to day and already has an article about 2006 Hengchun earthquake and also has details about the damaged communication cables.
Darkness
It is 7:30am and still completely dark while driving to Helsinki. Some snow would help to give us some light; hopefully there will be some snow at least for Christmas. All the snow we received melted away and we are currently experiencing some unusually warm weather. Well, I am born in November so I am used to darkness; there is something very calming in the total darkness like this.

Winter fun
It started to snow, finally. Winter is now here.
Winter arrived! (?)
Well, first the Autumn storm hit the Finland and it was a nasty surprise to wake up at 3am when the wind started to howl in the corners. On Saturday morning I was surprised to see that the wind also brought some snow with itself. And it didn’t melt – we are still having some snow on the ground and temperature is below freezing point most of the time.
Did the winter arrive so easily or is it going to warm up still?
Feeling of winter
It is getting more and more cold these days, this morning I drove to the office at 7am and my car temperature meter was showing +1 Celsius (33.8 Fahrenheit) degrees only. It certainly is feeling cold now.
Yesterday I got the winter tires changed to my car and it is ready for the first snow to arrive. With my typical luck it will take weeks before we actually see that happening now when I am prepared. They were predicting snow for the Friday in the beginning of this week but of course the weather changed slightly during the week.
Autumn
It has been quite cold in the recent morning, you can see that the winter is slowly arriving to Finland. I think at the moment the coldest morning during this week was when the temperature meter in my car showed +5 Celsius degrees (41 Fahrenheits) at 7:00am in one morning. It has however varied quite a much in different days, some mornings I have been able to see temperatures like +9 Celsius degrees (49 Fahrenheits) so we are in the middle of the season when the nature tries to figure out whether to turn into a winter or to stay in the summer for awhile still.
Have been quite busy but I think my photo gallery is progressing well, in the future you should be able to browse all the interesting (interesting according to me) photos from my various travels or other situations online. Stay tuned … I will post more information on that later.
Otherwise the life has been busy as usual, end of the year is coming quickly and everything needs to be finished before that. Nothing unusual in that area, quite fun actually. I am always good at working under pressure 
Cold …
It has been quite cold again this week. It started to get colder during the last weekend and now it is again slowly getting warmer. Well, I guess it is winter time in Finland
I am trying to think the next travel destination but it hasn’t been so easy task while trying to be busy in the work. It would be nice to visit New York again but some other destination could be also good idea.
